Walt Addison Linscott will serve as the general counsel and corporate secretary with Carestream Health starting Jan. 3, 2011, the company announced Monday.
Linscott will lead the Rochester, N.Y.-based Carestream's global legal organization.
He will bring more than two decades worth of experience with legal issues that affect the health care industry to the Carestream team, the company said. Linscott served as chair of Life Sciences Practice Group, an international law firm. He was also a founder and managing partner of the business law firm Thompson Hine LLP's Atlanta office.

Linscott has extensive experience developing legal strategy for mergers and acquisitions, leading a team of lawyers in defense of health care companies in large class-action and multi-party litigation and developing other solutions for health care companies on issues such as regulatory risk and reporting obligations under national and global securities laws, Carestream said.
Prior to his legal career, Linscott served as a captain with the U.S. Marine Corps and received the Navy Achievement Medal for professional achievement in the conduct of special security operations.
