Third-party MRI service provider
Genesis Medical Imaging Inc. said Tuesday it inked a deal with Air Products, the world's biggest helium supplier.
Allentown, Penn.-headquartered Air Products will supply the super-cooled liquid helium used to keep MRI magnets at cryogenic temperatures. Huntley, Il.-based Genesis said it will use Air Products' "keep cold service" for around 150 magnets currently installed by the company around the country.
“The contract with Genesis is the largest we have signed in the independent sector to date," Shawn Smith, product manager of North America Helium with Air Products, said in a statement.
