Royal Philips Electronics
wrapped up its purchase of Sectra AB's mammography line last week, acquiring its flagship low-dose mammo scanner, the MicroDose.
On Sept. 1, Philips paid 57.5 million euros ($81 million) for the operation, and will pay out an additional 12.5 million euros ($17.6 million) if certain conditions are met within the next five years.
The mammography operation represents 14 percent of Linköping, Sweden-based Sectra's net sales for fiscal 2010-2011, and employs about 110 people.
