Medical imaging accreditation and assessment group RadSite named three radiologists to its advisory board, the company announced on Tuesday.

The new members are Dr. Anthony Defrance, a professor at Stanford University, Dr. David Levin, former radiology chair at Thomas Jefferson University, and Dr. Jon Shanser, who has helmed different American College of Radiology committees.

In addition, RadSite said Angelic McDonald, of Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, joined its standards committee, and Carolyn Core, president of Anne Arundel Diagnostics Imaging, joined its accreditation committee. Committee appointments last one year, and can be renewed.

Also, James Long, director of national contracting for Humana in Louisville, was named vice chair of the board of directors.

Annapolis, Md.-based RadSite, formed in 2005, has reviewed more than 60,000 imaging systems at nearly 23,000 facilities, the company said last month. Its accreditation program is under review for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recognition.
