There are now more than 1000 full-time faculty, including four Nobel Laureates and eleven members of the National Academy of Sciences, as well as 800 medical students, over 1000 clinical residents, 500 biomedical science students, and 400 postdoctoral fellows in training. UT Southwestern is dedicated to the education of physicians who are thoroughly grounded in the scientific basis of modern medicine, who are inspired to maintain lifelong medical scholarship, and who will care for patients in a responsible and compassionate manner.
The Department of Radiology has been lead by Robert W. Parkey, M.D., the longest sitting chairman on the UT Southwestern campus, for over 27 years. This dynamic and innovative department is committed to being at the forefront of new developments and clinical applications in medical imaging. The expanding facilities and programs, supported by the UT basic science and research divisions, enables the department to offer unique and varied learning opportunities to the residents and fellows. Their programs are designed for the maximum benefit from the high volume and broad range of cases encountered at the various teaching hospitals affiliated with the program.
