Albuquerque, N.M. - Philips Healthcare recently donated nearly $9,000 to the ASRT Foundation to fund medical imaging and radiation therapy programs in underserved communities.
The Foundation will use the funds to support ASRT members who volunteer to help provide quality medical imaging and radiation therapy services for populations in need.
Several Foundation programs will benefit from the funds including the RAD-AID ASRT Foundation Radiologic Technologists Fellowship Program for Developing Countries and the American College of Radiology's Partnership for Haiti Radiology Education Days. The programs offer patient care services, education for the local health care personnel and information on equipment, positioning and patient safety.
