Agito celebrates 10 year anniversary

by Philip F. Jacobus, CEO | May 28, 2014
Recently, I met with Anders Fage Jensen, the CEO at Agito. I congratulated him on Agito reaching the 10 year mark.

It is so interesting to me how the market is developing in Europe. Agito has rocketed to be one of the largest companies in Europe and although they started out buying and selling diagnostic imaging equipment, they have grown to be a Pan-European mobile imaging provider, equipment service provider and refurbisher.

Here in the U.S., alternative service seems to have a different meaning than it does in Europe. Anders has built a company that is an alternative service provider first and a used equipment company second.

There is another European phenomenon that separates North America from Europe. Anders welcomes competition in the space because he feels that as more companies offer alternative service, it will help his business to grow.

At DOTmed, we are friendly with many companies in Europe and many independents seem to be growing faster than here in North America. Maybe because there is greater need, maybe because there is less competition. In my opinion, it is because it is harder to do business in Europe unless you know what you are doing-- you are probably not going to survive.

So, congratulations to Anders and Agito and all of the other successful companies in Europe.

According to Jeff Bezos, "A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person. You earn a reputation by trying to do hard things well."
