The National Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering announced this week that it will rename its awards for new investigators to the "Edward C. Nagy New Investigator Award" to honor the Academy's first Executive Director.
A tribute posted on the NIBIB website states, "Ed was a dedicated colleague, but more importantly, he was our dear friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Nagy died July 29. The family suggests that memorials be sent to Alternative House, Post Office Box 694, Dunn Loring, VA 22027. Alternative House provides support for at-risk youth and their families through shelter, counseling, crisis intervention and outreach.
