University Hospitals of Cleveland Has Great Career Opportunities

National Accreditation University Hospitals of Cleveland most recent accreditation survey by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) resulted in an excellent rating of 94 (on a 100 scale). JCAHO also completed a separate review of the hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility and it received an impressive rating of 96.
Cancer Care Excellence University Hospitals Ireland Cancer Center is recognized as a national leader in cancer research and treatment. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) recently renewed Ireland Cancer Center's designation as a "Comprehensive Cancer Center." That is the NCI's highest designation. In its review, the NCI called the Center's leadership "outstanding" and rated the Ireland Cancer Center overall as "outstanding to excellent". The Ireland Cancer Center is the only cancer center in Cleveland and Northern Ohio to have earned an NCI designation.
Pediatric Excellenc In national surveys, Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital is ranked as the top pediatric hospital in the Midwest region. Rainbow is also ranked #1 in pediatric research nationally based on grants from the National Institute of Health.

* The Nursing Externship Program provides a 10-week, hands-on, in-depth program for junior-level students under the guidance of a supervising nurse/program partner.

* The University Hospitals Health System Nurse Refresher Course is a 10-week collaboration between University Hospitals of Cleveland (UHC) and Cleveland State University (CSU). Ten weeks of 1 clinical day at UHC and one instructional day at CSU is designed to help Med/Surg nurses return to work in an acute care setting.
