Phyllis and Teddy Cohen are
the team behind Elite Medical
Elite Medical sells an array of medical equipment to doctors' offices, hospitals and teaching institutions in the U.S. and to customers overseas including the Middle East and Philippines. "Our prices are quite competitive and customers enjoy the quick turnaround response time that we have," said President
Teddy Cohen, who heads the shop along with his wife, Vice President Phyllis Cohen.
Speed and affordability set Elite Medical apart. "It's also the manner in which you present your equipment--cordial conversation over the phone," Cohen stressed. The company sells all types of equipment including densitometers, pulse oximeters, EKG/ECG, procedure tables, patient/fetal monitors, defibrillators, spirometers, BP units, etc. A leading item is infusion pumps, a product for which a large recall recently took place. "The recall impacted us positively because we have access to the pumps that people do want and that has helped us," he said.
In addition to more than 20 years in the medical field, Cohen is a medical rep for a laboratory so he really speaks the doctors' language.

"With access to the Internet doctors are actually taking the time to go online themselves rather than having their nurses or their clerks look for equipment," he said. "I am having a lot of personal conversations with physicians themselves, which I am used to doing as a lab rep. But that is interesting because you used to have a secretary calling in the past."
DOTmed plays an important role for the company. "DOTmed basically has given me mass exposure. We see the benefits of DOTmed, no question about it."
