ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Three radiologic technologists have been selected to receive travel grants that will make possible their attendance at educational and professional conferences this year. The grants were awarded as part of the 2016 Siemens Education Journey Award, a unique collaboration between the ASRT Foundation and Siemens Healthcare USA.

Made possible by a contribution from Siemens to the ASRT Foundation Celebration Campaign, grants of up to $4,000 each were awarded to the recipients. The grant program was developed to send medical imaging professionals to radiologic science education conferences in order to support professional development and promote peer-to-peer educational prospects.

The recipients of the 2016 Siemens Education Journey Award are:

• Ross Daniels, R.T.(R), of Tallahassee, Florida, who will attend the Siemens Innovations for Imaging conference to be held in April in Las Vegas.
• Devonia Moore, R.T.(R), of Six Mile, South Carolina, who will attend the RSNA Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting including ASRT@RSNA to be held in Chicago in November and December.
• Larry Sibley II, R.T.(R), of Venice, Florida, who will attend the ASRT Educational Symposium to be held in Las Vegas in June.

“Through the Education Journey Award, Siemens Healthcare is proud to align once again with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the ASRT Foundation in demonstrating our ongoing commitment to fostering continuing education opportunities for radiologic technologists,” said Nanci Wozniak, Vice President of Education Services at Siemens Healthcare. “This grant money will help enable technologists to develop valuable new professional skills, improve workplace efficiency, and deliver quality patient outcomes.”

ASRT Foundation Development Manager Keith Greer said, “This is an exciting opportunity to offer to radiologic science professionals and students. It is unlike any other award we have given in the past. Because of the generous support of Siemens these R.T.s will be able to learn from some of the best and brightest minds in the profession. It’s a testament to the commitment and collaborative spirit of the radiologic technology community.”
