Two Valuable Lunch & Learn Sessions
Fujifilm will sponsor the following two educational events on Monday, November 28th from 12:30-1:30 PM.

Transitioning to DR: Clinical and Financial Benefits Beyond Preventing Reimbursement Penalties – will be held in Room # S403B. The session will feature Jerry Thomas, MS, FAAPM, DABR, CHP, DABSNM, Coordinator Radiologic Physics/Radiation Safety Officer at Via Christi Health, Inc., and William Tobin, Imaging Director & MRI Safety Officer at East Texas Medical Center. While recent legislation is prompting facilities to transition from X-ray and CR to digital radiography, there are gains to be made beyond avoiding reimbursement cuts. The speakers will discuss the many benefits of implementing DR systems including time savings, better image quality, increased patient safety and satisfaction, reduced radiation dose, and improvements to a facility's bottomline.

Evolution of Value-Based Care: Where Does Radiology Fit? – will take place in Room #S403A. James Whitfill, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Scottsdale Health Partners, a clinically integrated network in Phoenix, AZ, will lead the presentation. Dr. Whitfill will discuss value-based care in the context of today's technologically driven healthcare environment. He will also talk about his experience as part of a provider team which has delivered cost savings across multiple payer sources including commercial, Medicare ACO, direct to employer, and Medicare Advantage plans.

RSNA Research Grants Awarded
In keeping with the company's commitment to advancing the field of diagnostic imaging, Fujifilm supports the RSNA Research & Education (R&E) Foundation with financial resources for select grants.

The 2016 FUJIFILM Medical Systems/RSNA Research Resident Grant of $30,000 for a one-year study has been awarded to Ashley Sekhon, M.D. Dr. Sekhon will work collaboratively with The Ohio State University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to develop an updated image analysis tool from prospectively collected, de-identified digital photos of breast appearance. The photos were obtained as part of a multi-institutional, national trial (NSABP B39/RTOG 0413) that randomized women with localized breast carcinoma to receive whole breast radiation versus accelerated partial breast irradiation following lumpectomy. The tool will allow for objective evaluation and scoring of cosmetic results that can be utilized in future clinical trials to standardize cosmetic assessment.
