As an academic medical center,
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital believe in the importance of an excellent clinical setting for our patients and as a foundation for the learning experience of Jefferson students and residents. It is within our various clinical settings that technologists, scientists, nurses, attending physicians, residents, medical students, and allied health students learn their professions and work collaboratively as a team and help define the future of clinical care.

The Department of Radiology offers a wide range of continuing education programs. These include live courses and visiting fellowships at Jefferson, as well as off-site conferences and symposia.
Radiology Department Visiting Fellowships
Visiting fellowships in seven major sub-specialty areas of Radiology:
* Breast Imaging
* Computed Body Tomography
* Magnetic Resonance Imaging
* Musculoskeletal
* Neuroradiology/ENT
* Ultrasound
Each of these programs is designed to provide a flexible and individualized learning experience. Visiting fellows have the opportunity to participate in film interpretation, observe procedures and techniques, study teaching file cases, as well as attend regularly scheduled case reviews and interdisciplinary conferences. However, it is the one-on-one interaction with faculty that makes these programs rewarding for both the visiting fellow and the faculty. In each program the basic curriculum can be modified to place emphasis on specific areas in which the visiting fellow has an interest.
Who Should Attend?
The visiting fellowship program is available to physicians and other allied health professionals who want to enhance their knowledge in one of the seven sub-specialty areas primarily identified with the practice of radiology. The interested physician should have prior experience in some aspect of medical imaging and a current medical license.
Upon arrival at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the visiting fellow (VF) will meet with the Technical Coordinator to discuss specific education goals and objectives. The VF will also meet with their designated physician instructors to discuss their personal goals. Next the VF is then given a tour of the division and is then placed in the clinical area which will best meet their educational goals. Throughout the fellowship, the Technical Coordinator will monitor the VF's progress and make adjustments to the program as necessary.
