ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO — A new grant administered by the ASRT Foundation will award up to 50 radiologic technologists $500 each to support educational costs and professional growth opportunities. Funded by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the Advancing Your Profession: Education and Professional Growth Grants program helps R.T.s keep their knowledge and skills up to date in the ever-advancing health care industry.
The awards will be presented to at least one recipient per active affiliate of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. R.T.s can use the funds as reimbursement for educational conferences and certain professional development programs. Applicants must be a member of both ASRT and an active ASRT affiliate, or be eligible for membership for both. There are active ASRT affiliate societies in nearly every state.
According to ARRT Executive Director Jerry Reid, Ph.D., collaborating with the ASRT Foundation is a natural fit for the program because both organizations are committed to helping R.T.s excel in the profession. "The ARRT board of trustees is incredibly excited about the new grants because they'll support radiologic technologists working in every state," said Dr. Reid. "Technologists can now pursue even more resources for advancing their education and professional growth."
