A monthly perinatal morbidity conference reviews low Apgar score babies as well as perinatal deaths. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Saint Joseph Hospital can accommodate 33 neonates with overflow space to accommodate 6 additional babies when needed. The NICU is a recognized high-risk Level III nursery and has five full time neonatologists on staff. The neonatologists participate actively in departmental lectures, seminars and discussion groups.

A monthly Gynecologic Pathology conference reviews all patients with malignant disease. Residents review the histological specimens before the conference and participate actively in the management discussion on all patients. A gynecological oncologist, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, several pathologists and the attending physicians participate in the process.
