LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Orthopaedic Institute for Children (OIC) has broken ground on a new urgent care center that will more than double the size of its current urgent care facility. The groundbreaking is the first in a multi-phase construction project that will later include the building of a new physical therapy department and seven new research laboratories. The various phases will be sequenced to allow for all of the existing programs and services to remain open and fully operational during construction.
The groundbreaking for the new center was celebrated on September 23 at “Ozzie’s Birthday Bash,” an annual event that brings together hundreds of local children, their families, and “Ozzie,” OIC’s well-known mascot. The festivities included an obstacle course, bounce house, face painting, cartoon artists, yoga instruction and more. All children in attendance received a Dodgers baseball cap compliments of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.
