WAUKESHA, WI, MAY 18, 2007 -- GE Healthcare has announced that industry expert and nationally-recognized presenter and author Joseph Vinhais has joined the GE Healthcare Quality team as Vice President, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs (QA/RA) for the company's Integrated IT Solutions (IITS) business based in Barrington, IL. Vinhais is Regulatory Affairs Certified (RAC) and one of the country's leading authorities on the subject of Regulatory Compliance as applied to operations and manufacturing. That knowledge coupled with 20 years of industry experience will enable him to continue ensuring that GE's IITS products are designed, produced and serviced in a complaint, safe and effective manner while also meeting clinical needs.

Vinhais joins GE Healthcare from Brooks Automation Software where he served as the Vice President of Regulatory Compliance. Prior to that, he has served in various posts at Textron, Tyco (AMP), and Honeywell (Allied Signal). Vinhais is experienced in key elements of manufacturing and IT compliance, including Statistical Process Control, Electronic Device History Records, Electronic Batch Records, Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA), Complaint Handling, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and Quality Management Systems.
Vinhais is an alumnus of the Bioengineering Institute - Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Medical Device Management Studies and Northeastern University, where he studied Regulatory Affairs. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Systems from Central Connecticut State University, where he also minored in Manufacturing Engineering, and an Associate of Science in Quality Assurance Technology from Waterbury State Technical College.
