The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) is pleased to announce the founding of the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII). Established in 2007 in partnership with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ABII establishes a new program that allows Imaging Informatics Professionals (PACS administrators) to gain certification and to earn the credential of CIIP (Certified Imaging Informatics Professional).

The certification program defines the standard to demonstrate the knowledge and competence necessary for professionals in the field of Imaging Informatics and recognizes the distinct competencies that varying backgrounds bring to the profession.
The Imaging Informatics Professional (IIP) Certification Program has been developed to be consistent with the standards of The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). The IIP Certification Program will be submitted for accreditation to the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
Eligibility
Certification is open to anyone meeting the eligibility criteria, which includes a flexible mix of experience, education, related professional activities, and passes the examination
The Examination
The Examination is a 150 question test that covers 10 major knowledge domains identified by imaging information professionals as being critical to competence. Details may be found in the Examination section of this web site.
