DOTmed 100 Spotlight RSTI - Solon, OH

This year marks the 20th anniversary that Radiological Service Training Institute (RSTI) has been providing multi-platform, hands-on training services in the area of diagnostic imaging maintenance and repair. Last year, RSTI trained 1000 students from the U.S., Belgium, Canada, China, Chile, Japan and Korea in areas ranging from Basic Multi-Vendor Advanced Radiology to Multi-Vendor CT.

As the largest, independent multi-vendor training center in the world, with an eye towards steady expansion, RSTI is challenged with balancing their growth while maintaining their high standards of service and industry knowledge. To that end, they have furnished their 21 labs with state-of-the-art modalities. And by owning the bulk of their own equipment, RSTI can claim a more intimate knowledge-- including a complete documentation library by OEM and modality from 1985-2005-- which, in turn, enables them to provide a better caliber of service, training and customer support.

RSTI is the largest multi-vendor training center in the world.

A DOTmed user for almost 3 years, RSTI is enjoying growing sales success on the international scene. Last year alone, they sold more than $500,000 in equipment through DOTmed listings, including a $175,000 Cath Lab to a client in Lebanon. Through a regular flow of email activity, some 30-50 weekly, RSTI is now selling to 41 foreign countries and consistently raising their global presence. And although they operate primarily on a "for profit" basis, this type of Internet networking has enabled them to reach out and donate equipment to in-need parties, as they did recently donating an AMX Portable to Nicaragua.

RSTI Operations Manager, Jim Monro hails the Internet as "the key to marketing used equipment and parts. The key to keeping those customers and adding new ones is being honorable and fast. It may take Bolivia a month to make a decision, but when they decide, they want it now!" Monro credits DOTmed as emphasizing honesty and credibility, essential to successful Internet sales. "Today we are building our businesses together based on that simple credo."
