San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center Fund for Healthcare Professional education was created in recognition of Anthony Amato and in memory of Claudia Bradshaw Lopez. The Scholarship Fund was established to provide funds for all health care professionals. The scholarship will include any accredited school, in state or out of state

Application Process
Applications must be completed and received by the 2nd Friday of April each year to be considered for the next year's scholarship.

The award shall be for one academic year at a time. If deemed advisable by the Scholarship Fund Committee, the applicant may reapply each year up to a total of four years depending on the length of their particular healthcare education program. The scholarship can be applied to any accredited college or technical school anywhere in the United States.

Eligibility
-- Must be a high school graduate and presently residing in the San Luis Valley. This will include Costilla, Mineral, Saguache, Alamosa, Rio Grande, and Conejos Counties.

-- Must have been in the top fifty percent of their high school graduating class.

-- Must have applied and been accepted for admission to an Allied Health program in an accredited school, within Colorado or out of the state.
