Paris, France – Bronwen Taylor, vice president, compliance and risk management at Stryker, was honored with the 2018 PwC Award for Leadership in the Advancement of Ethics in the Medical Device Industry.

Presented at the 11th annual Global MedTech Compliance Conference in Paris May 2-4, the award is sponsored by PwC and given annually to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the advancement of ethics and ethical behavior in the medical device and diagnostics industry.

“Bronwen’s leadership and outstanding contributions in advancing global business ethics and compliance in the medical technology space reflect all the qualities that this award represents, and I congratulate her for this well-deserved honor,” said Christopher L. “Bronwen was instrumental in launching AdvaMed’s Global Compliance Steering Committee, and she has served as its first chair for the past two years. Bronwen also chairs AdvaMed’s Device and Diagnostics Compliance Group,” White noted.

“In these roles Bronwen has worked tirelessly and selflessly with diverse stakeholder groups across the industry and around the world to share best practices, promote clarity and consistency, improve compliance programs and the ethical environments in which medtech organizations operate,” White said. “This includes her work in leading development of guidance for ethical third-party intermediary relationships in the Asia-Pacific region, and phase-out of direct sponsorships in China for health care professionals’ attendance at third-party educational events. Such efforts facilitate fair competition and open markets, and far more importantly help ensure the best possible care for patients.”

“PwC is honored to present this award,” said PwC Principal Erinn Hutchinson. “It is PwC’s pleasure to continue to recognize outstanding compliance professionals such as Bronwen for their many valuable contributions. Bronwen has been a selfless advocate, and her leadership in the advancement of ethics and compliance within the international medtech community is an inspiration and strong example to all in the industry,” Hutchinson said.

“I want to express my appreciation and sincere thanks to PwC for sponsoring this award and for its longstanding commitment to recognizing compliance leadership in the medtech space,” White concluded.
