Los Angeles, CA – (May 8, 2018) RIS Innovator MedInformatix today announced highlights from a just concluded case study with Fairfax Radiological Consultants, the largest private radiology practice in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. The study details a noticeable upswing in both practice operations and physician-patient engagements since implementing the MedInformatix technology platform, with a particular boost in revenue cycle management.
"We've just marked the fourth anniversary since we made the switch to MedInformatix, and from day one they have been a terrific technology partner for us," says Rick Arnold, Chief Information Officer at Fairfax. "They take a genuine interest in our growing practice's needs. They listen and then work with our techology, administrative and clinical teams to make whatever customizations are needed so that our RIS performs optimally across our enterprise."
Arnold points to significant efficiences in the areas of workflow, billing and workforce requirements that have contributed positively to his bottomline since implementing the MedInformatix RIS and Complete Practice Management Solution. Of particular note is an online bill pay option for patients that has helped reduce outstanding receivables by almost two weeks.

Aside from the direct boost to his practice, Arnold says Fairfax has benefitted from MedInformatix increasing reputation as an advocate for health information technology, notably the adoption of electronic health records and enterprise practice management solutions across all specialties of healthcare. From issues surrounding Meaningful Use, MIPS/MACRA, the Quality Payment Program or a host of other initiatives, MedInformatix is an active presence before Congress, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), among other groups. "MedInformatix is giving the radiology industry an important voice before policy makers and regulators and making sure those who impose mandates understand how they impact the delivery of healthcare in America. It's nice to know they have our back," added Arnold.
Indeed, Fairfax has enjoyed steady growth of late. They presently have 80 sub-specialized radiologists on staff, serving more than 600,000 patients annually between their privately owned centers and three area hospitals. Services cover a comprehensive range of procedures including breast imaging, general radiology, low dose CT, PET/CT, nuclear medicine and neurointerventional, vascular and interventional radiology.
