The goal of this program is
making residents the best
possible doctors

Gundersen Lutheran has designed this program to closely resemble experiences doctors have in clinical practice, including inpatient and outpatient care. They also offer both primary care and tertiary care medicine, providing residents with opportunities to see the routine and more unusual cases in a multispecialty setting.

Curriculum & Schedule

Required Rotations
-- General Medicine Ward (3 rotations)
-- General Surgery
-- Trauma and Emergency Center
-- Pulmonary/Critical Care
-- Cardiology/CCU

Five Elective Rotations
When choosing electives, the Transitional residents must give consideration to rotations that provide ambulatory experience of at least 140 hours.

While all Transitional residency programs have required rotations and electives, each rotation here offers opportunities to direct experiences towards residents' interests.
