ROSSLYN, Va.—The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) published NEMA NU 2-2018 Performance Measurements of Positron Emission Tomographs (PET). This Standard provides a uniform and consistent method for measuring and reporting performance parameters of PET scanners.

A measurement of time-of-flight (TOF) resolution for TOF-equipped PET scanners

The co-registration accuracy between the computed tomography (CT) and PET components of a hybrid PET/CT scanner

"NU 2 makes it possible to objectively compare scanners during the purchasing decision process, and, after delivery, defines tests to ensure that a quality system has been delivered," said Michael Miller, physicist, Advanced Molecular Imaging for Philips, and chair of the the MITA NU 2 Work Group.
