FLORHAM PARK, N.J., July 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Northern New Jersey residents seeking Interventional Radiology (IR) services for both cancer-related and non-cancer cases can now go to the state-of-the-art, newly constructed Summit Medical Group MD Anderson Cancer Center located at 150 Park Avenue in Florham Park. With the opening of the Interventional Radiology (IR) and Imaging Department at its freestanding cancer center, Summit Medical Group is offering advanced IR procedures, including Ultrasound-Guided biopsy and CT-Guided biopsy – procedures that are typically exclusive to a hospital setting – in an outpatient, coordinated-care environment.

Siemens Biograph mCT-20 with FlowMotion Technology PET-CT delivers a highly sophisticated imaging technique that provides detailed information to physicians about the presence or spread of disease and accurately identifies its precise location so radiation treatment planning is better targeted. PET/CT is commonly used to diagnose, stage, and/or restage a variety of types of cancer including breast, colorectal, esophageal, melanoma, lymphoma, lung, colorectal, head and neck, and cervical cancers. It can be used to monitor tumor response to treatment during the planned course of therapy, or in non-invasive cardiac diagnosis and stroke assessment.
