Nursing Scholarship Program

One- and two-year full scholarships covering all in-state tuition costs and other eligible expenses, such as textbooks and uniforms, will be awarded to eligible students who are completing an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing at Northern Virginia Community College or Germanna Community College.

Students who receive scholarships are required to fulfill a one- or two-year commitment to work full-time as a Nurse Clinician at Potomac Hospital upon graduation.

Eligiblity
-- Must be either a Potomac Hospital employee, a member of the Potomac Hospital Auxiliary, a Prince William or Stafford County resident, a Prince William County School of Practical Nursing second-year student or graduate, a Northern Virginia Community College first-year nursing student, or a Germanna Community College first-year nursing student.

**2008 application packets will be available in December.

Endowment Fund Scholarship

For High School Seniors

This scholarship fund provides local students, who are planning a career in healthcare, with much-needed funds for higher education. In the past 13 years of this vital program, the endowment fund has distributed thousands of dollars to deserving students in our area.

Scholarships for healthcare or a health-related field will be in the amount of $1,000, with $500 for each of three additional school years of continued enrollment. The nursing scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000, with $1,000 for each of three additional years of continued enrollment.

Eligibility
Prince William County residents, Stafford County residents attending Brooke Point High School, North Stafford High School, or Colonial Forge High School.

For Medical School Students

This program offers a scholarship to a student planning to go to medical school or who is already enrolled in medical school.

The scholarship will be in the amount of $2,000, with $1,000 for each of up to three additional school years of continued enrollment.

Eligibility
Prince William County resident or a northern Stafford County resident attending either Brooke Point High School or North Stafford High School at the time of high school graduation.

Auxiliary Offers Scholarships

The program offers scholarships to area high school seniors who plan to pursue careers in a medical health care or related field. These scholarships will be worth $1000 each.

Eligibility
Prince William County resident or a northern Stafford County resident attending either Brooke Point High School or North Stafford High School at the time of high school graduation.
