AAMI has launched its call for session proposals for the first AAMI Exchange, the new name for the reimagined AAMI Conference & Expo. Proposal submissions are due by Friday, Sept. 14.
The Exchange, which will be held June 7–10, 2019, in Cleveland, OH, will boast an expanded education program to engage the entire health technology ecosystem, including biomedical, clinical, and systems engineers; biomedical equipment technicians; healthcare technology managers; cybersecurity experts; hospital administrators and managers; risk managers; technology asset managers; and regulatory professionals.
“The AAMI Exchange is more than a healthcare technology management (HTM) conference. It is designed to encompass many other areas that are affecting the health technology industry as a whole,” said Sherrie Schulte, AAMI’s senior director of certification and the annual conference. “To help expand the education program, we have compiled a list of suggested topics areas based on feedback from past attendees, and we are looking forward to receiving proposals from industry professionals who might not have thought about presenting at the conference in the past.”

“Presenting at the Exchange is a great way to showcase your expertise and share your insight and knowledge with thousands of your peers, building new connections and helping others learn from your experiences in the process,” Schulte said. “Our goal is to create a dynamic, interactive environment where we go beyond talking about problems and instead learn from each other to find lasting solutions.”
The Exchange will place a greater emphasis on attendee engagement and collaboration, featuring new formats for presentations and discussions. Details about other elements of the Exchange will be unveiled in the coming months.
Interested presenters should submit their proposed session title, a brief description of the presentation, and three key learning objectives through the online submission form. All proposals must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 14. Sessions will then be reviewed by the AAMI Exchange Program Committee and AAMI staff. Selected presenters will be notified by Friday, Nov. 2.
