“With the artificial intelligence, the VIPER platform, aims to support difficult case reviews, clinical trial matching, and subspecialization challenges,” said Billiter. “Because VIPER was designed and supported by pathologists over 10-plus years, the priorities have been defined to enable reproducible results by matching, based upon computer vision, cases to assist the pathologist with difficult case reviews, and then also identify pathologists in the network for peer-to-peer consultations. This type of function supports quality-based metrics and, in turn, results for the patient. The technology, because of the logic in the system, can prioritize cases based upon workload, subspecialty, and research and education needs.”

The money raised came from a seed funding round led by Sierra Ventures. Participants included Rev1 Ventures and Tamarind-Hill Fund.
