February 28, 2019 -- Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Vienna, Austria – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, today debuted an expanded portfolio of solutions that advance precision diagnosis and image guided therapies at the 2019 European Congress of Radiology. At the congress, Philips unveiled the Incisive CT system, which integrates innovations in imaging, workflow and lifecycle management to help healthcare organizations achieve their financial, clinical and operational goals. The company also announced the availability of Illumeo with adaptive intelligence in markets across EMEA [1]. Available as part of Philips’ IntelliSpace informatics portfolio, Illumeo sets a new paradigm of clinically intelligent software designed to change how clinicians see, seek and share information by providing a tailored workflow experience which adapts to their preferences and the patient context.

“The diagnosis and treatment of disease is becoming increasingly precise, combining data from a wide range of sources and applying intelligence to that data to provide personalized healthcare that’s based on a deep understanding of the individual patient,” said Robert Cascella, Chief Business Leader Precision Diagnosis, Philips. “At this year’s ECR we’re debuting an expanded portfolio across precision diagnosis and image guided therapy that supports clinicians in getting the right treatment to the right patient at the right time.”

The newest addition to Philips’ diagnostic imaging portfolio, Incisive CT integrates innovations in imaging, workflow, and lifecycle management, helping healthcare providers to improve the CT experience for patients and staff, enable smart clinical decision-making and increase efficiency. With its industry-first ‘Tube for Life’ guarantee [2], Philips will replace the Incisive’s X-ray tube – a key component of any CT system – at no additional cost throughout the entire life of the system, potentially lowering operating expenses by an estimated $400,000 [3]. Incisive CT will be introduced in major markets in Europe and Asia in the first half of 2019, and will subsequently be rolled out in further markets [4].

At the congress Philips is also showcasing its recently-introduced Azurion with FlexArm system, setting a new standard for patient imaging and positioning flexibility for image-guided procedures. During increasingly complex interventions, clinicians need to quickly and easily visualize critical anatomy and identify changes to the patient during the procedure. Azurion with FlexArm includes a set of innovations that makes it easier for the clinician to perform imaging across the whole patient in both 2D and 3D. As the clinician moves the system, the image beam automatically maintains alignment with the patient, allowing more consistent visualization and enabling them to keep their focus on the treatment.
