NetLearning, a part of Cengage Learning, the pioneering supplier of integrated software tools and courseware for training compliance and competency assessment, is excited to announce the release of three distinct courseware series specifically tailored to meet the needs of learners in the healthcare professions.

Thirteen new continuing nursing education courses on Leadership & Management cover hot-topic areas such as time management, delegation change management and effective staffing. These subject areas are in high demand due to the Magnet Recognition Program® developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center(ANCC) to recognize health care organizations that provide nursing excellence. All thirteen courses are ANCC provider-approved for three continuing nursing contact hours each*.

The Dosage Calculation Safety Series, an eleven-course series designed for nurses and other staff involved in medication administration, features multiple enhancements, including a special pretest module and a comprehensive post-test module, user selected/saved calculation preferences, color photos and animations of medical equipment, real drug labels, as well as additional resources, supplemental data and case studies. A new study from The Joint Commission indicates that at least 5 percent of all medication errors, which translates to 15,000 incidents per year, are due to the misuse or misreading of dosage abbreviations. The new Dosage Calculation Safety Series helps clinicians learn not to use these abbreviations, subtly reinforcing the use of the Do Not Use abbreviation list by rejecting answers with disallowed abbreviations.

NetLearning's new ten-course series on Pain Management teaches patient care staff to help patients manage pain as part of a comprehensive pain management program. Each course addresses a specific condition, from diabetes pain management to HIV/AIDS pain management, and covers pathology/ etiology, assessment, appropriate interventions, and patient education.

"These new courses bring the caliber of our offerings to new summits of quality and excellence," said Cathy Esperti, Executive Director of NetLearning. "We pay close attention to the needs of our learners and continue to lead the industry by providing peer-reviewed solutions for healthcare professionals, by healthcare professionals."

NetLearning is committed to developing courseware that exceeds the needs of professional learners and improves the quality of patient care in hospitals and other care facilities.
