ORLANDO, FLA. – In a ceremony held just prior to the opening session of the American Society of Radiologic Technologist's Educational Symposium, ASRT Chairman of the Board Amanda Garlock, M.S., R.T.(R)(MR), presented an award to Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. naming the company an "outstanding promotional partner."

The award was presented in recognition of Canon Medical's exemplary service to the Society's mission and vision, its robust promotional efforts and comprehensive national media support of the Safety FiRsT® grant program administered by the ASRT Foundation. Catherine Wolfe, M.A., senior director of corporate and strategic communications for Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc., accepted the award.

The Safety First program, now in its fifth year, has resulted in safer working conditions for facilities across the country, been mentioned in national publications like Forbes and has raised awareness about improving the health and safety of countless R.T.s.

Wolfe went on to open the Educational Symposium with her presentation "Is Leadership Your Superpower?" urging participants to show leadership through courage in ordinary and extraordinary situations.
