The impact of the COVID-19 crisis is now being felt across the country, with conference organizers increasingly being urged to cancel large gatherings and for all of society to limit group interactions. In response to CDC guidance, State of Illinois directives, and many institutional bans on staff and faculty travel, the ARRS leadership has determined that the 2020 Annual Meeting in Chicago, as well as the Virtual Meeting, must be cancelled.
We remain grateful to our faculty and participants, who have invested considerable effort in creating an outstanding program, as well as for all of our registrants, who have planned their schedules around attending. We will look at opportunities to virtually present portions of the excellent content intended for the May meeting at some point in the future. For now, we appreciate the need for our faculty and members to turn their full attention to caring for those infected with the virus.
ARRS understands the inconvenience this cancellation will cause. All in-person and virtual registrants may receive a full refund, without penalty, for their 2020 registration fees. As an option, you may request a transfer of these registration fees to the 2021 Annual Meeting in San Diego or the 2021 Virtual Meeting. If you choose this option, please let us know by Monday, March 23. If you choose to receive a full refund, you do not need to contact us. Refunds will be automatically processed as quickly as possible.
