LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. Canon U.S.A., Inc., donated 60 teddy bears to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, N.Y. The teddy bears will be given to new mothers and pediatric patients admitted to the hospital. The same teddy bears are sold by Canon to raise funds for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through their annual charity event, which is just one of many ways Canon supports NCMEC in their efforts to bring children home.

"Kyosei -- all people, regardless of race, religion, or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future -- is Canon's corporate philosophy and we can find no cause more worthy than giving back to our children," said William Reed, senior vice president and general manager, Corporate Communications, Canon U.S.A. "At a time of year when people reflect upon what they are thankful for, we are grateful to be fortunate enough to present these teddy bears to Nassau University Medical Center. We hope they will bring happiness to their patients."

Dawn Shields, senior manager, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Canon U.S.A. and Maureen Flynn, associate, CSR, Canon U.S.A., presented the bears to Helen C. Lavas, Director, Service Excellence and Patient Satisfaction; Shelley Lotenberg, Director, Public Affairs; and Linda J. Walsh, CTRS, Director, Therapeutic Recreations Department, who happily accepted the teddy bears on behalf of Nassau University Medical Center.
