Along with a wide-range of equipment, AMS also provides services including Part Distributor, Pre-Owned Equipment Remarketer, Remanufacturer, Rebuilder and Maintenance Service.
"What sets us apart is the personal attention and the quality of our product," says
Noel Estrada, head of Domestic & International Sales, Purchasing. "We purchase product at the right price, rebuilding it then offer it for less cost than new but with our warranty."
AMS provides a full-time bed control expert on staff, for example, and touts itself as "Your one-stop source for oxygen concentrators, concentrator repair parts, and oxygen concentrator repair services."
Its customers are mostly Home Care facilities, Hospice Care facilities, and private patients throughout the entire U.S. and South America.
AMS stocks about 90 percent of what it sells, Estrada notes.
"Our growth has been stable for many years," he says. He did add, however, that business increased nicely last year, growing 13 percent.
One emerging trend in his business has been mandatory government certification in the Homecare Industry. "Accreditation creates uniformity (of care and services)," Estrada explains, "and should only affect the end user (patients) in a positive way."
Estrada himself has been in the business 16 years, with his first five years spent directly in Homecare and the last 11 reselling refurbished equipment. Based in Elmsford, NY, he commutes between New York and Missouri. While happy to talk about the many varieties of home medical equipment offered, he's much shyer about where exactly AMS gets its inventory.
"If we told you that," he laughs, "We wouldn't be in business." He notes, "our prices are better due to purchasing product at the right price, rebuilding it, and offering it for less than a new product, but with our warranty."
"DOTmed is increasing awareness of Advantage Medical Systems," he adds, not only for its website, but, he says, "providing sales leads as well."
