The company's new dental business
leader is himself a dentist
ROCHESTER, NY - Carestream Health, Inc., announced the appointment of Edward Shellard, D.M.D, as Director of Business Development for the company's global dental systems business. In this role, Shellard will be responsible for executing a worldwide business development strategy, developing and managing key partnerships and executing on acquisitions.
"Ed Shellard has consistently demonstrated the ability to rapidly drive sales, nurture product innovations, and achieve ambitious revenue targets in the dental industry," said Richard Hirschland, President, Dental Systems Group, Carestream Health. "In addition to being a seasoned leader with extensive management expertise, his experience as a practicing dentist will enable him to understand the day-to-day challenges and opportunities that our customers face-providing the ideal background for this role."
Shellard was previously President and CEO of Dental Technologies, Inc., a $100 million dental laboratory company based in Dublin, Calif. He is also a former President of Kerr Corporation of Orange, Calif., a $300 million medical device company that serves the dental marketplace. Through these and other positions, Shellard gained extensive experience in international operations, business development, project management, and strategic planning. He began his career as a dentist and ran a successful practice before entering corporate management.
