ORLANDO - HIMSS recognized more than 30 outstanding industry leaders and organizations during its Awards and Recognition Banquet this week in Orlando. Held in conjunction with HIMSS08, the banquet honored the 2007 award recipients for their significant contributions to the Society, their organizations and the healthcare IT profession. These special contributions may vary widely due to the diverse membership of HIMSS and the broad definition of the healthcare professions encompassed by the HIMSS Mission.

Award recipients are selected by various HIMSS Committees, Work Groups and Task Forces, and then are given final approval by the HIMSS Board of Directors. The call for nominations for the 2008 Awards opens in August.
