PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA - ECRI Institute and the Chesapeake Region Safety Council, the Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council, and the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System, compose the Mid Atlantic OSHA Training Institute Education Center, one of the newly approved OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Centers.

The consortium will offer OSHA outreach training and employee and occupational health and safety training and education programs at locations throughout the mid-Atlantic region, including the greater Philadelphia, Allentown, Harrisburg, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Baltimore areas, as well as Ocean City, MD, and Washington, DC. Interested students should look for courses to begin in late March or early April 2008.

"Employee injury and illness rates in the mid-Atlantic region are up over the last five years," says Luke Petosa, director, ECRI Institute's Center for Education and Training. "The consortium will provide quality OSHA outreach training and education not only to promote a culture of safety, but ultimately to reduce injury and illness on the job."
