Sonora Medical Systems, the world's leading supplier of after market products, training, depot-level repair and support services, and test equipment to the medical imaging market, is pleased to announce the release of a major upgrade to its multi-patented FirstCall™ ultrasound probe testing system. The new product, dubbed FirstCall aPerio™, expands the user's ability to test probes by adding testing capabilities for Siemens Cypress, GE Vivid and Logiq Book laptop series probes, Hitachi, Philips HD11 cartridge connector probes, SonoSite, and Philips multiplexed probes such as the L12-5 and others.

Further, the upgrade includes easily interpreted color coded analysis software to evaluate probe performance, as well as user set probe acceptance criteria. FirstCall aPerio also provides USB connectivity to the user's computer.
This upgrade represents a number of important ultrasound probe analysis features that our growing worldwide customer base has said would be very beneficial to their work. Several of the additional new probe adapters match the growth in market share of hand carried ultrasound devices and the need to accurately measure the performance of their respective probes.

FirstCall aPerio, from the Latin 'to reveal,' allows the user to establish a baseline of performance for probes consistent with their in-house hospital quality assurance and product acceptance protocols. "FirstCall aPerio allows the user to find even subtle failures in ultrasound probes that can lead to costly replacements if not dealt with in a timely manner," said G. Wayne Moore, President and CEO of Sonora Medical Systems.

Sonora recently announced the shipment of the 300th FirstCall system. FirstCall aPerio is currently available for shipment.
