Today, Sutter Health and Sansum announced plans to enter into a strategic partnership. The partnership, which involves Sansum Clinic becoming part of Sutter Health over time, plans to create more access to primary care and ambulatory multi-specialty care currently in high demand in the region. At a time when health systems across the country face increasing industry pressures, these two like-minded California not-for-profit health systems have recognized an opportunity to collaborate to best serve the needs of patients and communities for generations to come.
“Increasing access to much-needed primary care and specialty services is core to Sutter’s community-focused mission and vision,” said Warner Thomas, Sutter Health president and CEO. “Sutter Health has a long history of working closely with medical group physicians to meet the needs of patients and communities, including helping to grow physicians and services at places like Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Sutter Gould. We look forward to doing the same with Samsum to invest in and bring more high-demand services and physicians to the central coast.”
