"All 24 of the scholarship applications were of superior quality, and our committee was once again faced with a very difficult decision in determining which of the applicants would be awarded the scholarship," said Barton Branstetter, MD, Chair of the SIIM Education Committee. "The members of SIIM are enthusiastic about resident participation, and we hope that those residents who did not receive the scholarship will nevertheless be able to join us for the meeting in Seattle."

The 2008 Resident Scholarships will be formally presented at a press conference on Thursday, May 15, during the Annual Meeting in Seattle. The press conference takes place at noon in Room 310 of the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. The winning essays will be published in an upcoming issue of SIIM News, the Society member newsletter.
