HCA Healthcare Houston has acquired 11 SignatureCare Emergency Centers in the Houston area, bringing the number of free-standing emergency centers under it to 26.
All 11 have been renamed HCA Houston ER 24/7 and are located in Atascocita, Bellaire, Copperfield, Cypress, Memorial City, Mission Bend, Montrose, Spring, Stafford, Heights, and Westchase.
They each have a clinical laboratory, cardiac monitoring, overnight observation services, and telemedicine capabilities. They also have experienced emergency medicine physicians, support staff, and advanced technology for facilitating adult and pediatric emergency care.
“We are very pleased to be expanding our emergency services throughout the Greater Houston area,” said HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division president Troy Villarreal in a statement. “These 11 locations will join our existing HCA Houston ER 24/7 network to offer residents greater access to providers and specialty services.”
HCA Houston Healthcare is currently working to create a smooth transition for patients and the community.
The deal follows the opening of another HCA Healthcare full-service emergency room in Hillcroft in southwest Houston in November, reported the Houston Chronicle.
The healthcare system has a total of 71 facilities, including 13 hospitals, urgent care centers, free-standing diagnostic imaging sites, women’s health centers, and rehab facilities, according to its website. It employs 15,000 people and sees nearly a million patients annually. HCA Healthcare is the largest for-profit healthcare system in the U.S.
