Canon Medical Systems USA and Hermes Medical Solutions have entered a sales agent agreement that the companies say is aimed at enhancing access to precision medicine, particularly in theranostics, to improve clinical outcomes for patients.

Tim Nicholson, managing director of the molecular imaging business unit at Canon Medical Systems USA, highlighted the potential impact of this partnership. "We are excited about the opportunity to combine our digital PET/CT solution, such as Cartesion Prime, with the products of Hermes Medical Solutions, making precision medicine a reality for more patients," he said.

Launched in late 2019, the Cartesion Prime digital PET/CT system combines Canon's SiPM PET detector and the Aquilion Prime SP CT system for optimal PET/CT imaging and workflow with a patient and operator-centric design.

The partnership, announced just prior to the annual SNMMI meeting, will enhance Canon Medical’s existing Vitrea Oncology offerings with advanced theranostic capabilities, providing a comprehensive suite of solutions for precision medicine.
