Inspira Health has broken ground on an expansion of its Mullica Hill campus, marking the start of a $240 million investment aimed at enhancing healthcare services in Southern New Jersey.
The project will add 168,000 square feet to the campus, including a five-story wing featuring updates to maternity services, imaging, interventional radiology, and other clinical spaces.
The expansion will increase the capacity of the Intensive Care Unit, Medical/Surgical, Maternal Child Health, and Graduate Medical Education. Additionally, it will introduce new technology and infrastructure improvements, including a simulation lab for resident training.

“Our focus remains steadfast on continuing to provide outstanding patient outcomes, compassionate care, and continually evolving to meet the ever-changing needs of the Southern New Jersey communities we serve,” said Lydia Stockman, senior vice president and chief administrative officer, Inspira Medical Centers. “We are excited to start this project, which marks a new era for Inspira Health and the surrounding communities. When completed, this expansion will allow us to care for even more members of our community and provide our clinical teams with an expanded environment for our patients, for years to come.”
The expansion project is expected to generate 500 construction jobs and more than 100 permanent positions once completed.
Inspira Health operates four medical centers and various healthcare facilities across South Jersey, employing more than 7,800 staff members.
Renovations to the existing hospital areas will begin in 2026, with the new wing expected to open for patients in early 2027.
