Assistance Publique–Hôpitaux de Paris (AP–HP), Europe’s largest university hospital system, has entered a comprehensive framework agreement with Siemens Healthineers, the first of its kind for both organizations.

The collaboration aims to address major healthcare challenges in France through the codevelopment of innovative solutions targeting chronic diseases, neurological and cardiovascular conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, and cancer.

The agreement, signed by AP–HP chief executive Nicolas Revel, Siemens Healthineers CEO Bernd Montag, and Hassan Safer-Tebbi, head of Siemens Healthineers France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, represents AP–HP’s first partnership of this scale with an imaging company. The partnership extends beyond clinical research to encompass systemic changes in healthcare delivery, leveraging advanced technologies to adapt to evolving patient and organizational needs.

"Joining forces is essential," said Montag. "Combining the expertise of both teams will enable us to better anticipate and address the challenges facing healthcare systems today."

The partnership builds on existing collaborations in imaging, diagnostics, radiotherapy, and interventional surgery, focusing on systemic solutions that span from prevention to post-treatment care. Projects will include early detection strategies and improved patient pathways, designed to integrate seamlessly into hospital operations and improve patient outcomes.

The agreement also opens the door to broader international collaboration through the European University Hospital Alliance (EUHA), of which AP–HP is a founding member.
