GE HealthCare has named Will Song as its next president and CEO for its operations in China, following the planned retirement of Yihao Zhang.

Song, a longtime Johnson & Johnson executive, will assume the role on July 1, 2025, after joining the company on April 1 to facilitate a transition period.

Zhang, who has led GE HealthCare’s operations in China since 2019, has played a key role in shaping the company’s localization, innovation, and partnership strategies in the region. Under his leadership, the company expanded its manufacturing footprint and increased investment in innovation, positioning itself for long-term growth in a competitive and evolving market.

He has also held leadership positions in industry associations, including the China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI) and the Shanghai Enterprises Directors Association.

Song holds degrees from Peking University, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Massachusetts. He will be based in Shanghai. Zhang and Song will collaborate over the coming months to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
