Siemens Healthineers is investing $150 million to expand operations and manufacturing capabilities in the United States, focusing on job creation and supply chain optimization in what the company calls its largest global market.
The initiative includes relocating manufacturing for Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, from Baja, Mexico to Palo Alto, California. This move is expected to create around 50 new jobs and streamline production for Varian’s radiotherapy systems. The company said the shift will reduce global supply chain complexity and improve responsiveness to demand.
In addition to reshoring production, Siemens Healthineers will open large-scale supply depots in Dayton, New Jersey and Manteca, California. The depots aim to improve parts availability by nearly 30% and offer greater delivery flexibility for customers across the country.

North Carolina Governor Josh Stein described the $141 million project as a sign of confidence in the state’s healthcare workforce and education programs.
