UI Health Care appoints inaugural chief physician executive
May 28, 2025
Dr. Bevan Yueh
Bevan Yueh, MD, MPH, has been named the inaugural chief physician executive for UI Health Care. He will begin his new role on July 31, pending approval from the Iowa Board of Regents. Yueh will also serve as a professor in the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery in the Carver College of Medicine.

As UI Health Care continues to expand access to meet the needs of more patients and communities across Iowa, UI Health Care leaders identified a need for a physician to provide executive leadership to integrate clinical care across the entire health system, including hospitals, physician groups, and current and future sites of care. He will report to Denise Jamieson, MD, MPH, UI vice president for medical affairs and the Tyrone D. Artz Dean of the Carver College of Medicine.

“Dr. Yueh is a nationally recognized physician leader who will bring a fresh vision for improving operations across our entire clinical care enterprise,” Jamieson says. “I’m excited to welcome him to UI Health Care and partner with him to further develop our system-wide clinical standards as we evolve as a clinical care enterprise. Working together with clinicians and leaders across the organization, we want to continue to improve access for Iowans and create a more seamless, coordinated patient care experience that aligns with our mission, vision, and values.”
