North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health have consolidated under a single brand, NKC Health, marking a formal rebranding of the two longtime healthcare providers.

The North Kansas City, Missouri-based organizations have operated together for decades, with North Kansas City Hospital serving as a regional acute care facility and Meritas Health managing physician clinics and outpatient services. Leaders say the rebranding aims to streamline how patients recognize and engage with the system.

“Our new brand is a celebration of the incredible dedication of our team, now united,” said Stephen Reintjes Sr., M.D., president and CEO of NKC Health. “We share a bold commitment to seek better answers and to honor the trust placed in us by those we impact.”

Kristen Guillaume, vice president and chief digital and information officer, said the new identity stems from a branding study that included internal and external feedback. “Through thoughtful research, we developed a new brand that better represents us as one system and empowers patients to easily recognize that whether in the hospital or at the clinics, they’re cared for by the same trusted team,” Guillaume said.

The name NKC Health retains a connection to the organization’s original geographic identity while signaling a broader mission beyond hospital-based care. The full rollout of the new brand will take place gradually over the next year.

NKC Health includes more than 4,700 staff and 600 physicians across 35 locations. The health system remains independently operated and continues to serve communities throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
