Siemens Healthineers has received FDA clearance for two integrated radiography and fluoroscopy systems: the Luminos Q.namix R and the Luminos Q.namix T.

Both platforms are designed to streamline imaging workflows through intuitive design, ergonomic controls, and integrated AI-based automation, aiming to reduce complexity and improve efficiency in diagnostic imaging.

The company developed the new systems with input from more than 160 radiology professionals over six years. The goal was to create a more user-friendly alternative to traditionally complex 2-in-1 imaging systems, according to Niral Patel, head of X-ray products at Siemens Healthineers North America.

“With these two new platforms, Siemens Healthineers offers the radiography and fluoroscopy communities a long-sought, user-friendly alternative to imaging systems of unnecessarily complex design, which have been a barrier to more efficient workflows,” Patel said.

The Luminos Q.namix R is a remote-controlled system that can be operated either from the control room or bedside, offering flexibility based on clinical needs. It supports a broad range of procedures, from upper and lower GI studies to orthopedic imaging, and features a 180 cm source-to-image distance designed to minimize image distortion. An in-room control panel allows for closer interaction with patients, which can be particularly useful in pediatric or contrast-dependent procedures.

The Luminos Q.namix T offers tableside control for settings where direct patient access is essential, such as in bariatric, pediatric, or gastroenterological exams. It features multiple touchpoints for image acquisition and a digital fluoro tower that parks automatically, allowing users to transition smoothly between fluoroscopy and radiography tasks.

Both systems support Siemens’ latest wireless detectors and imaging software, with AI-assisted functions designed to maintain consistent image quality at reduced radiation doses.
