Johnson & Johnson has announced a $2 billion investment to establish a dedicated manufacturing facility at FUJIFILM’s new biopharmaceutical campus in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The facility will span more than 160,000 square feet and is expected to generate around 120 new jobs over the next decade.

The New Brunswick, New Jersey-based company said the long-term investment is part of a broader effort to shift a significant portion of its advanced medicine production to domestic sites. In addition to the Holly Springs project, Johnson & Johnson plans to unveil details for additional U.S.-based manufacturing sites and expansions in the coming months.

“Johnson & Johnson has more manufacturing facilities in the U.S. than in any other country, and we continue to strengthen our presence here,” said Joaquin Duato, chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson. “With the recent signing of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, we continue to expand our investment in the U.S. to lead the next era of healthcare innovation.”

The Holly Springs site, developed by FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, is a multi-tenant biomanufacturing hub aimed at supporting large-scale biologics production.

This announcement follows a larger $55 billion commitment the company made earlier this year to support U.S. manufacturing, research and development, and technology over a four-year period. Construction is already underway at another Johnson & Johnson site in Wilson, North Carolina, where the company expects to employ more than 500 people once operational. That project is also anticipated to create about 5,000 construction jobs during its development phase.

Johnson & Johnson said its U.S. investments are intended to bolster capabilities in therapeutic areas such as oncology, neuroscience, immunology, cardiovascular disease, and robotic surgery.

No timeline was provided for the Holly Springs facility’s completion.
